Bariery kulturowe i strategie radzenia sobie w opiece nad chorymi na epilepsję na terenach o ograniczonych zasobach: badanie jakościowe
Cultural Barriers and Coping Strategies in Epilepsy Care in Resource-Limited Areas: A Qualitative Study
Komunikacja wielokulturowa i zaangażowanie społeczności mogą zmniejszyć opór w praktyce medycznej i poprawić jakość opieki.

Abstract Background This paper explores the challenges in epilepsy care practices in China's resource-limited areas caused by cultural barriers, proposes localized solutions from a nursing perspective, and provides a basis for optimizing epilepsy care models in resource-limited regions. Method Adopt the phenomenological research method in qualitative research and apply purposeful sampling, 17 participants, including 6 epilepsy patients, 4 family members, 4 nurses and 3 doctors admitted to a remote county hospital in Northeast China from January 2025.12 to 2025.12, were selected as interviewees for the interview. Extract themes through the 7-step Colaizzi phenomenological analysis approach. Results This article presents three main themes. Theme 1: Cultural barriers affect nursing practice. Theme 2: The dilemmas of the nurse's role. Theme 3: Cross-cultural communication in nursing theory can alleviate the impact of cultural barriers. Conclusion Cultural barriers significantly affect the quality of epilepsy care in resource-limited areas. Nurses need to shift from being mere "disease managers" to "cultural mediators". Through community participation and cultural embedding strategies guided by cross-cultural theory communication, it is possible to effectively reduce resistance in nursing practice.
